谈家桢（1909.9－2008.11），遗传学家，教育家，中国现代遗传学的奠基人之一。毕生投身教育科研事业，为中国遗传学的发展贡献卓著，捐资设立“谈家桢生命科学奖学金”。国际编号3542号的小行星被命名为“谈家桢星”。

Jiazhen Tan(1909.9-2008.11)   Geneticist, educationist, one of the founders of modern genetics in China. He committed himself to the cause of education and scientific research, and made significant condivibutions to the development of genetics while donated money to establish Jiazhen Tan Life Sciences Award. The asteroid number 3542 was named in his honour.
